Information

Good evening co-op families!

A few brief notes about tomorrow:

1. There will not be music class tomorrow!Ms. Olga is unable to attend co-op this week, and Mrs. Bushmaker is filling in her place.

2.. Your children DO NOT need to wear their team color. I didn’t get all the families a list of their kids’ colors, so let’s push this to NEXT Friday.

3.  I very much need a parent to volunteer help keep track of team points. Our teachers are wanting to hand out points for good behavior and participation, and I cannot facilitate that since I’m busy teaching art. I haven’t had time to figure out just HOW we can utilize the colored tickets (ie when they should be handed out, collected), and I’d LOVE if someone feels ambitious enough to basically take this over and lend me a hand. Our kids are doing such fantastic work! And the teachers want to be able to use this system, so please let me know if you are up for this.

4. Children in Montessori need to check in with Marcia this week so she knows what you want your child working on. IT IS VERY LIKELY that this class will be PARENT-LED for the foreseeable future. Marcia is volunteering to help you identify what skills your child needs to work on and help you find an appropriate learning game, but as we get more comfortable using the games/materials, parents will need to be able to be more present in this classroom.

5. A gentle reminder that parents with babies or toddlers are welcome to join in story-time or music, but please have a sense of your child’s volume; if he/she is being too loud or disruptive, please leave the room for a minute if needed.
If you need another room to pop into with a little one, the art room would be fine, as this class probably best tolerates extra noise.
6. Lastly, children in art and crocheting who are feeling unmotivated to try the activity will be asked to go to their parents. We are working hard to design activities fir all skill levels, but if a child is unmotivated and soaking up the teachers’ attention and time, they will need to leave and perhaps come back on a day when it is more to their liking.

See you in the morning!

Annie
